The exhibit depicts the implantation of a pulse generator connected to an electrode to stimulate the spinal cord. After performing a laminotomy at T10-11, the electrode is inserted in the back up to the T8 level. Next a neural pulse generator is surgically placed in the right buttock. The stimulator is connected to the electrode via a subcutaneous cable.
