The exhibit illustrates an open reduction and internal fixation of the right hip with a DHS blade. A lateral incision is made over the right hip, exposing the femur. A guide wire is drilled from the greater trochanter to the femoral neck. After reaming the femoral neck, a DHS blade is placed and then secured with a sideplate and screws.
