Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of a displaced comminuted fracture of the olecranon. An incision is made over the posterior elbow joint, dissection of soft tissues to expose the fracture site, which is debrided removing blood clots. To begin the fixation process, there is drilling of a hole in the proximal ulna, the fracture is reduced with the insertion of two k-wires and the fracture is fixated with the tightening of cerclage wire around the k-wires.
