This exhibit demonstrates the surgical procedures of an anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at the C5-6 vertebral level using a PEEK spacer and plate. An incision is made at the anterior neck and the vertebral bodies are exposed. Osteophytes are debrided followed by a discectomy and then drilling of the end plates. After a foraminotomy, the PEEK spacer with bone graft is impacted and fixation is achieved using a plate and screws.
