The exhibit depicts the anterior cervical discectomy and disc replacement at C6-7. Disc material is extracted from the disc space between the vertebrae using rongeurs. Bilateral foraminotomies are performed and cartilaginous end plates are removed and there is posterior decompression. An artificial disc is placed into the C6-7 disc space, stabilizing the vertebrae.
