The exhibit illustrates arthroscopic surgery of the left shoulder to treat impingement syndrome, acromioclavicular (AC) joint arthritis, rotator cuff and labral tears, and synovitis. A synovectomy procedure is performed to remove inflamed tissue from the joint. Next the labral and rotator cuff tears are debrided using a shaver. The acromion is cut to relieve the impingement caused by spurring and arthritis of the acromion and AC joint. A Bio-SwiveLock anchor is placed and the distal clavicle is excised to complete the procedure and improve shoulder joint function.
