An arthroscope is used to find chondromalacia, adhesions, fibrillation, anterior subluxation, retrodiscitis, synovitis, hyperemia, and edema in the TMJ. The joint is debrided, the anterolateral capsule is released, and the TMJ is manipulated to reduce the disc. Sub-synovial intra-articular injections are given.
