The exhibit illustrates right lumbar decompression surgery at L5-S1. After a hemilaminectomy procedure performed with a Kerrison rongeur, disc material is extracted from the disc space. A medial facetectomy and foraminotomy are also performed with rongeurs to complete the decompression treatment.
