This exhibit illustrates an instrumented fusion surgery of L3-4 and L4-5. A laminectomy is performed at L3-5 and disc material is removed with rongeurs. A curette is used to prepare the end plates for the impaction of cages with mixed bone graft into the disc spaces. The vertebrae are decorticated to prepare for a posterolateral fusion using mixed bone graft, pedicle screws, and rods.
