The exhibit illustrates the open surgery of the right leg to treat comminuted fractures of the mid tibia & fibular shafts. The tibia canal is reamed to allow for impaction of a nail into the tibia. Using a jig for guidance, two proximal and two distal screws are inserted to stabilize the tibia.
