The exhibit illustrates olecranon open reduction and internal fixation surgery of the left arm. After a longitudinal incision is made over the olecranon, the fracture is exposed and the hematoma evacuated. After debriding and irrigating the wound area, the fracture is reduced with forceps and a lag screw is screwed into place. The fracture is fixated with a Synthes plate and screws to complete the procedure.
