The exhibit illustrates the open reduction and internal fixation of the right ankle. Two incisions are made to expose both tibial and fibular fractures affecting the medial and lateral malleoli. Reduction clamps are used to reduce the fractures, while plate and multiple screws fixate the bones in place. The surgical site is closed with sutures or staples to complete the procedure.
