The exhibit illustrates open surgery to treat a left patellar fracture. After exposing the fracture site and removing bone fragments from the wound, the patellar tendon is sutured to the patellar remnant using three tunnels. The suture repair reconnects the patellar tendon to the patella and helps restore knee joint function.
