The exhibit depicts the anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at C5-6. Disc material is extracted from the disc space between the vertebrae using rongeurs to prepare for reaming of the C5-6 space. After the discectomy is completed, an autograft cage is placed to fuse C5-6 and stabilize the vertebrae.
