The exhibit depicts the anterior lumbar discectomy and fusion at L5-S1. After the discectomy is completed, the endplate is drilled and partial corpectomy performed. A femoral ring with graft is inserted into the L5-S1 disc space. Fixation of L5-S1 is finalized with placement of plate and screws to fuse and stabilize the vertebrae.
