The exhibit features an anterior lumbar discectomy procedure with fusion of L5-S1. After making an incision in the lower abdomen, L5-S1 is exposed and a discectomy performed. The L5-S1 endplate is decorticated and a cage with Actifuse is inserted into the disc space. Fixation of L5-S1 is completed when the cage is screwed into place over the disc space.
