The exhibit features an anterior retroperitoneal discectomy procedure with fusion of L5-S1. After making an incision in the lower abdomen, L5-S1 is exposed and a discectomy performed. The L5-S1 endplate is decorticated and a cage with infuse is inserted into the disc space. Fixation of L5-S1 is completed with placement of a plate and screws over the cage and vertebrae.
