Decubitius ulcers, also known as pressure or bed sores, require surgical treatment to prevent infection and promote healing of the affected area. In this exhibit, bilateral ulcers on the heels have progressed down to the bone. During surgery, necrotic tissue is cut away and necrotic bone is excised for biopsy. The wound sites are treated with Curasol gel wound dressing.
