The exhibit depicts the anterior cervical discectomy and fusion at C5-6. After removing large anterior osteophytes, a discectomy is performed using a drill. After the C5-6 end plate is decorticated, allograft is impacted into the disc space. Finally a Hallmark plate is screwed in place over C5-6 to stabilize the vertebrae.
