The exhibit illustrates anterior surgery of the cervical spine to remove disc herniations at C4-5 and C5-6 levels. Rongeurs are used to remove disc material and perform bilateral foraminotomy procedures. After preparing the disc spaces, two artificial discs are placed at C4-5 and C5-6 to relieve pressure on the spinal cord and reduce pain.
